HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE
FOR YOU TO GET ME DIVORCED?

Our Massachusetts Flat-Fee Divorce Attorneys can’t divorce you – only a Judge can approve the terms of a divorce – but we can get you to the courthouse!

We often find that our clients are interested in resolving their cases as promptly as possible.  With that in mind, we’ve streamlined the process of handling uncontested divorces.

The first response Attorney Irwin M. Pollack will give you regarding the time frame for divorce won’t surprise you at all, because it sounds just like a lawyer’s answer.  It depends.

It depends on how much you and your spouse are able to cooperate to resolve the divorce issuesbetween you.  In some cases, we have to pull a client back, and make sure they’re not moving too fast.  Learn More

Even still, uncontested divorce is ultimately the quickest and least expensive way to divorce.  Once you and your spouse come to agreement, and you complete your Divorce Homework, you can usually be off-and-running shortly after that.  “Off-and-running,” of course, will vary depending on which of our services you choose to utilize.

LEGAL REPRESENTATION

If you’re searching for legal representation on your uncontested divorce, our goal is to have you in and out of our office in 30 days or less.   Our firm has flat-fees, which always include the cost of preparing the documents that we send to the court and a basic Separation Agreement.  The fee for our most basic service is $1,750.  The assumption is made that you and your spouse have no property, no children and that neither of you will paying alimony to the other.

This fee includes a consultation following receipt of your Divorce Questionnaire and appearance by one of our lawyers on behalf of the firm at a final hearing.  Our fee does not include filing fees or court costs.

Should you want faster service, we offer the option of an expedited service with our Two-Week Divorce or 72-Hour Divorce program.

Massachusetts divorce law precludes parties from finalizing their divorce until at least 90 days have elapsed, however once judgment enters on your divorce, you will most likely feel relieved the process is over.

Some of our clients upgrade our standardized separation agreement or Parenting Plan and opt for our Premium Agreements.  To review our Sample Documents, go here.

SELF-HELP LEGAL SERVICES

Your uncontested divorce can be as simple or as complicated as you decide to make it.    If you and your spouse intend to proceed without lawyers, you may consider our Self-Help Legal Services.  These are options that will provide you with the safety net of legal oversight and advice, but that won’t drain your bank account in the process.

Call our office to schedule an appointment – (800) 910-DIVORCE.  Often times, we can meet with you the same day or soon thereafter.  Our attorneys meet clients at 5 o’clock in the morning or on the weekend!

DIVORCE PAPERWORK SERVICE

Most people are surprised to hear that our clients don’t always meet with our staff in our offices.  Some people hire our firm solely to do their paperwork send us their Divorce Questionnaire and Agreement and, often times we finish the job within days or weeks.

Sometimes clients retain us to do their paperwork, and then we can’t get a hold of them again!  For some, circumstances have changed or they’ve reconsidered whether they want to dissolve their marriage.  Eventually, the documents will become stale that we’d have to redo them anyway, but we have no problem pulling their file and using the same documents later if they’re still acceptable to the court.

“SECOND OPINION” DIVORCE ADVICE

The easiest and most efficient service we provide is our Consulting Service.  Quite often, one of our attorneys will make himself or herself available to a client the same day, or during an upcoming weekend if that better fits your schedule.  To schedule your appointment, call (800) 910-DIVORCE, or contact us online.

In order to get the best value out of your consultation session, gather as much information as you can.  There’s no need to send it to us before-hand, just bring it with you when you come to our offices, or fax it prior to your phone call.

Make sure that you come prepared to pay for your session and read the Consulting Agreement that we’ll ask you to sign prior to the beginning of your session.

DON’T MOVE TOO FAST!

Our attorneys often tell each other how they wish they had a dollar for every time a client becomes tired and anxious saying how they just want “to get this divorce over with.”

So often the divorce process drags on, seeming like it will never end.

We know you’re tired.  We know you’re impatient.

But you must be careful now.  Slow down.  Just because you’re uncomfortable, you can’t make emotionally-charged decisions.

What you’re preparing now is an agreement that you will have to live with for the rest of your life.  Make sure it works.  You’ll be glad later that you weren’t railroaded into a long-term mistake.
